Compostability and biodegradability analyses belong to ISEGA's key competences for more than 20 years now. Pertaining to our company's tradition, paper and pulp-based materials still constitute the major part of the tested products, yet (bio)plastics have continuously gained importance during the last years.
Our standard offer comprises tests for industrial and home compostability according to EN 13432, EN 14995, ASTM D 6400, ASTM D 6868, ISO 17088, AS 4736, NF T51-800 and AS 5810.
We are approved by all relevant third party certification authorities in this field so that we can offer you our test services for a multitude of certification programmes.
Our lab routine includes:
- biodegradability tests according to ISO 14855 / ASTM D 5338
- biodegradability tests in aqueous medium according to ISO 14851 and ISO 14852
- biodegradability test in soil according to ISO 17556 / ASTM D 5988
- determination of material characteristics, e.g. according to Tab. A.1 of EN 13432, including infrared spectroscopy and physical testing
- ecotoxicity test with terrestrial plants according to OECD guideline 208
- ecotoxicity test with lumbricids according to ASTM E 1676
- nitrification inhibition test based on DIN EN ISO 15685
- quantitative and qualitative pilot-scale (ISO 16929 / EN 14045) and lab scale (ISO 20200, ISO 846 D) disintegration testig
